Juxtaposition of age and youth

15 Jan

Today I discovered an interesting series of artwork in which the artist Photoshopped her present day self into photographs of her as a child.

The artworks could be an interesting creative writing prompt, inspiring students to play with perspectives, trace footprints from the past and conceptualize what it means to belong or make discoveries.

These artworks also have potential as a writing prompt in a unit on Growing Up or Coming of Age.  Here, students could be asked to build character profiles or short narratives which imagine how a particular experience/destination would be experienced differently by people at different stages of their life journeys.
