What if…?

9 May

Students often find it difficult to come up with original story lines.  One approach is to play a game entitled ‘What if…?’

So, how does this work?  Start by discussing a story that students are familiar with and identify the key events in the story.  Then, discuss what would happen to  the narrative if one event/decision were changed.  How would this impact the narrative trajectory?

The other option is to work backwards.  In other words, provide the outcome and get students to figure out the altered sequence of events leading to that outcome.  For some interesting amended endings to Disney films, click here.
