Using movie trailers to make sense of plot

My Year 9 kids have been campaigning hard to view film versions of Romeo and Juliet.  While there is not time to show them the full version of any film adaptation, it is my plan to show them bits and pieces of a range of film versions.

Accordingly, I am going to begin by showing them the trailer for the 2013 film version of Romeo and Juliet.  Much like the Macbeth activity that I blogged about yesterday, students will use the trailer to seek to understand key ideas, characters, events and plot points.
