Police interview

As part of my Year 10 Crime Fiction unit, I want to provide students with opportunities to compose a range of text types.  One idea that I have is to provide students with the details of a crime, and then put them in pairs so that one student is the suspect and the other a cop.  Students will then demonstrate their interview skills by interviewing their allocated suspects.

A variation of this involves students being given different information and/or instructions.  This way, the policemen and women have to work harder to extract information.  Students could then use their experience as cop or suspect to create a fictionalised transcript of the encounter.
